US FCC Formally declares Huawei and ZTE "National Security Treats"

The American Federal Communications Commission has declared Chinese telecom gianst Huawei and ZTE 'National Security Threats", this will formally ban US telecom compnies from using government funds to buy and install Huawei and ZTE equipment.

FCC Commissioner Geoffrey Starks said:

“Network security is national security.  Today’s actions will help secure our networks against new threats from Huawei and ZTE equipment."

He goes on to say that there is a plan in place to find, fund and replace any existing Huawei or ZTE equipment already in place.

Meanwhile the UK Government is reassessing its decision to allow Huawei to take part in the 5G build out.
