Microsoft Powerpoint is the latest vector for the spread of malware

Remember when they said don't download from untrusted sites. Don't click on links. Don't open word documents from unknown sources.

Well PowerPoint has been safe, I mean it's just slides.

Not any more. And this malware is bad!

It does not require users to enable macros; instead it executes malware code hidden inside the document as soon as the victim moves/hovers a mouse over a link, which downloads an additional payload on the compromised machine -- even without clicking it. This new attack does not rely on Macros, Javascript or VBA, just the hover action.
